Academy of the Cross names New Director

Academy of the Cross, an excitingly new Christian high school opportunity, is coming to the Fox River Valley in the next couple of years. To work towards that opening day, the school's Board of Directors recently announced that it has hired Dr. Jay Krause to the position of Director for Development.

Dr. Krause begins his 29th year of ministry in The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. He has served ministries in Edwardsville, Illinois as a teacher and coach; Mequon, Wisconsin on the admission staff then as an Assistant Professor; Austin, Texas as Dean of Admission and Financial Aid followed by Vice President of Enrollment Services. Most recently, Dr. Krause served as the Executive Director of the Valley Lutheran High School Association in Phoenix, Arizona since 2003. During his time there, enrollment doubled and nearly 25,000 square feet of additional buildings were added.

While in Austin, Texas, Dr. Krause had the opportunity to be part of the volunteer leadership team that helped start that city's first Lutheran High School. He is excited about the opportunity and challenges that lie ahead in bringing Academy of the Cross to reality and looks forward to once again providing Lutheran secondary education to families in the Fox River Valley.

The future site of Academy of the Cross is a 33-acre plot between St. Charles and South Elgin near the intersection of Randall Road and Silver Glen. A targeted opening date for the high school will be announced around the end of this year. For more information about the planning being done, please visit the school's website at www.academyofthecross.org. An opportunity to support this new venture is to attend or donate to the annual dinner auction to be held at the Royal Fox Country Club on April 20, 2012.
