MCC Foundation holds shoe and fashion ball

Join the Friends of McHenry County College Foundation as it hosts the third annual Take a Walk in Her Shoes Ball, an evening of fashion, footwear and fun, at 7 p.m. Friday, March 9, at Boulder Ridge County Club in Lake in the Hills.

Back by popular demand is the “Strut Your Stuff” contest, featuring 100 first-come, first-registered contestants showing off their shoes on stage for prizes from five different categories: “Sinful Stiletto,” “Playful Pump,” “Bombshell Bootie,” “Scintillating Sandal” and “Funky Footwear.”

In addition to the shoe contest, prizes, auction items and raffles to support student success at MCC will be featured. Musical entertainment will be provided by an MCC jazz ensemble.

The event is held in conjunction with Women’s History Month; both men and women are invited. A portion of the proceeds from the ball will benefit the “Women in Transition” scholarship for women, 24 years or older, to attend MCC. Last year, 37 nursing program students received scholarship support from the Women in Transition Scholarship, which is supported through this event.

Cost is $75 per person; $25 per ticket qualifies as a tax-deductible contribution and includes hors d’oeuvres with a cash bar. Valet parking is available and admission is age 21 or older. Creative cocktail attire is suggested.
