MCC Sunday concert turns to love songs

The McHenry County College Second Sunday concert series will host jazz/pop artists Maureen Christine and Michael Bazan at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, for a valentine concert, “People Will Say We’re In Love,” featuring songs of Rodgers, Hammerstein, and other musical greats.
Christine is an award-winning vocalist and national recording artist with “a voice crystal clear.” She has performed with symphony orchestras, concert bands and jazz big bands, including musicians of the Count Basie Orchestra. She was recently chosen as the national anthem singer for the new Zac Efron and Dennis Quaid movie to be released this summer.
Bazan is a music professor and professional woodwind player. He is the director of the McHenry County College Jazz Ensemble. As a professional musician, Bazan has played saxophone, flute and clarinet with a number of musical legends, including Billy Eckstine, Bob Hope, Jerry Lewis, Frankie Valli, the Four Tops, The Buckinghams, Milton Berle, The Dorsey Brothers Orchestra and legendary entertainer Jerry Lewis.
