Chicago Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble at the MAC Feb. 17

Presenting an energetic mix of Afro-Latin American music with jazz, the Chicago Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble performs at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, on the Mainstage of the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn.

Founded in 2006 by Nicaraguan pianist and composer Darwin Noguera and Mexican trumpeter and composer Victor Garcia, this talented group of Chicago musicians has earned strong reviews for their genre-bending works. Their 2010 debut album, “Blueprints,” featured notable guest artists, including Paoli Mejias, Steve Turre, Ricky Luis and Neal Alger.

The Feb. 17 performance includes a free pre-show MAC Chat with the ensemble members.

Tickets to Chicago Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble are $32 for adults, $30 for seniors and $22 for youth.
