These day trips are accepting registration.
Ÿ Scenes from the Stone Age trip at the Chicago Field Museum takes place from 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 12. Visitors will journey into the caverns of Lascaux, to discover the origins of mankind and the decades-old collaboration between science and art. The cave paintings of Lascaux are the world’s premier example of prehistoric cave art. The exhibition features rare stone-age artifacts from the Museum’s collections, a lifelike stone-age family created by sculptor Elisabeth Daynès, as well as videos and interactive features that explain how Paleolithic people lived and how the cave paintings were made. A delicious three-course meal at Tuscany is included followed by a driving tour to see some of Chicago’s magnificent original, colorful murals. Cost is $109. Use course ID NST S60 012 to register.
Ÿ The Chicago Botanical Gardens — Butterflies and Blooms trip features the Grand Tram Tour, a tasty lunch buffet and tickets to the Butterflies and Blooms exhibition where visitors can immerse themselves in a habitat filled with hundreds of live butterflies. Trip takes place on Wednesday, June 19, departing at 9 a.m. and returning at approximately 6:30 p.m. Cost is $99. Use course ID NST S06 019 to register.
