Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital president honored by Barrington Chamber
Karen Lambert, president of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital and Advocate Aurora Health's Patient Service Area president for South Central Wisconsin and Northwest Chicagoland, is the recipient of the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce Women's Biz Net's inaugural Outstanding Women Leaders Award.
Lambert received the award for professional excellence during a luncheon at the Biltmore Country Club in North Barrington on Thursday, September 27. Other recipients were Joy Wagner for community impact, Susan McConnell for nonprofit leadership and Jennifer Prell for mentorship and education. The awards were created to recognize women for their inspiring work.
Lambert has served as president of Advocate Good Shepherd since 2001. Under her leadership, the hospital has earned numerous distinctions, including Magnet recognition, the highest honor for professional nursing practice, and inclusion on U.S. News & World Report's Best Hospitals list.
During Lambert's tenure, the hospital has experienced increased growth, the development of several service lines and an extensive outpatient network. In 2017, Advocate Good Shepherd completed the largest modernization project in its history, ensuring care delivery remains outstanding and attuned to the evolving needs of the community.
