Big Brothers Big Sisters of McHenry County to host Fall Gala Nov. 11
On Friday, Nov. 11, Big Brothers Big Sisters of McHenry County will be hosting the annual Fall Gala at 6 p.m. at Boulder Ridge Country Club, 350 Boulder Drive in Lake in the Hills.
The theme is "Help a Child Shine" and will feature performances by some of the most talented young people of McHenry County. The event will include dinner, with music by the McHenry County Youth Orchestra string quartet, performances by the talented young people, and many other activities - including the popular silent and live auctions.

The annual Fall Gala raises funds to support our one-to-one mentoring programs for hundreds of children between the ages of 6-14 throughout McHenry County. The organization is on track to improve the lives of more than 450 children in 2016.
Here are just a few statistical examples of the impact Big Brothers Big Sisters has on the lives of children: 87 percent improve scholastically; 91 percent experience an increase in self-confidence; 46 percent are less likely to use illegal drugs; 52 percent are less likely to skip school; and 77 percent develop heightened perception of future and abilities.
