North Chicago Health Center to host Patient Appreciation Day
The North Chicago Health Center, in conjunction with the North Chicago Center for the Arts, will hold a Patient Appreciation Day from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at 2215 14th St. in North Chicago. This is one of six health centers managed by the Lake County Health Department/Community Health Center.
"Through this event, the North Chicago Health Center is opening its doors to the community," said Meryl Fury, the health center's coordinator.
"The event will offer plenty of fun activities, but it is also an opportunity to learn more about the health center's services, from general/family medicine to school physicals."
This free event is for patients of the health center and their families, as well as the general public. It is designed to appeal to people of all ages. The day will include free food and beverages, a car show, yoga and Zumba classes, raffles, and music.
Plenty of activities have been planned for children, such as face painting, balloon animals, a bouncy house, and story reading. The North Chicago Police Department will provide a K-9 Agility and Command Response demonstration and a safety trailer.
Additionally, the health department will provide information tables on its dental, medical and nutrition programs. Healthcare providers will provide free health information.
