Challenger Anderson Seeks to Debate Incumbent Hultgren

Dennis Anderson, the Democratic challenger for Illinois' 14th Congressional District seat, is calling for candidate debates during the six Constituent Work Weeks remaining before the November 4 election.

"While I know the Congressman is quite busy, the people of the District deserve an opportunity to hear our distinctly different views on how to solve the problems that affect our communities and our Nation," Anderson said in a recent press release. "Sending his staff to visit district towns during working hours or holding telephone town halls with screened questions is not adequate. The people have an interest in hearing from the candidates face-to-face, and debates are the perfect format to make this happen. "

"I have heard from the field that Representative Hultgren has thus far turned down two invitations from non-partisan groups interested in hosting such joint appearances, including the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce. I know that incumbent members are avoiding public appearances except before pre-selected audiences, but I hope that my opponent will be an exception to this and find some time to join me in a few debates during the 'Constituent Work Weeks' between now and the election" said Anderson.

A resident of Gurnee, Illinois, Dennis Anderson is the Democratic candidate for the United States Congress for Il-14, a seat currently held by Republican Randy Hultgren. For more information go to:www.dennisanderson14.com.
