• College of DuPage offers new student orientation sessions for spring semester beginning today in the Student Resource Center Room 1450, 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn. Sessions help students learn about degrees, resources and academic programs available at COD. Tuesday

• The Willowbrook High School percussion ensemble, freshman band, symphonic band and symphonic wind ensemble will perform a holiday concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the school's auditorium, 1250 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Senior citizen gold cards and student activity passes will be honored.

• The Glen Ellyn Park District is holding a Gingerbread House making event for parents and their children ages 3-12 from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Spring Avenue Recreation Center, 185 Spring Ave. the fee is $35 for residents, $53 for others. For details, call (630) 858-2462.

• Itasca's Night with Santa begins at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday with a parade from Franzen School along Bryn Mawr to Walnut south to Irving Park Road to Village Hall. After the parade, activities will include trolley rides, holiday crafts, caroling, snacks and a commemorative ornament for every family while supplies last. • The sixth annual holiday Wrap-A-Thon to help the homeless will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday in the Student Resource Center and Berg Instructional Center Vendor Walkway at College of DuPage. Prices range from $2 to $5, depending on the size of the package. In addition, gift stands will offer items for sale. Proceeds will benefit Public Action to Deliver Shelter. • The Lombard Park District's Holiday Walk will remain on display through Dec. 23 at Lilacia Park, 150 S. Park Ave. Children will be able to visit with Santa and take rides on the Puffer Belly Railroad from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Friday-Sunday, Dec. 19 and 21-23.
