West Chicago 9, Glenbard North 3: The Wildcats (13-12, 6-9) swept a three-game DuPage Valley Conference series with the Panthers (9-14, 3-12) behind a 3-hit performance at the plate by Tyler Christ and a strong pitching effort from Jordan Long. Corey Freebern and Jeff Robinson had 2 hits apiece while Steve Cocat had 3 hits for Glenbard North.
WW South 3, Glenbard East 2: Jon O'Neil's go-ahead RBI `single in the bottom of the sixth powered the Tigers (15-9, 9-6) to the DuPage Valley Conference victory. Winning pitcher Jason Schuman (3-3) allowed 4 hits in 6 innings.
Bartlett 2-1, Waubonsie Valley 1-7: Game 2 winning pitcher Kevin Kirchner (4-2) hit a 3-run homer as the Warriors (12-11, 11-5) split in the Upstate Eight Conference. Ryne Gill went 2-for-3.
Benet 5-5, St. Patrick 2-6: In the opener Alex Staehely went 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI for the Redwings (14-10, 7-5) in their East Suburban Catholic Conference split. Pat Callahan (2-3) was the complete-game winning pitcher. Mac Coffey drove in 3 runs in Benet's Game 2 loss.
Willowbrook 3-7, Glenbard West 0-1: Alex Gasiamis fired a 4-hitter in the opener and Nick Cuzzone followed with a 5-hitter to cap a nonconference sweep for the Warriors (18-9). Chris Savas drove in 2 runs in the first game and went 3-for-3 in Game 2.
Downers North 10-11, Proviso West 2-1: After Dan Morrill went 3-for-4 in the first game, Jake Murray and Dan Sheppard homered in the second game of a West Suburban Silver sweep for the Trojans (12-13, 8-6).
at St. Joseph-Ogden: Driscoll (15-10) won a pair of five-inning games in central Illinois, starting with a 10-0 victory over Danville-Schlarman. Freshman Joe DeSimone (1-0) pitched a 3-hitter while Rick Divito went 3-for-4. The Highlanders also beat Tuscola 13-2 behind home runs by Divito and Phil Bongiovanni. Austin Hennessey (2-2) was the winning pitcher.
