Glen Ellyn Food Pantry asking for donations for new home

For more than 40 years, the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry has rented space in Grace Lutheran Church in Glen Ellyn. Two years ago, it was determined that the pantry was running out of space to meet community demands.

Now, during the current demand resulting from COVID-19, the need for space has grown significantly due to the increasing number of neighbors in need of food assistance.

The pantry's current overflow into additional areas of the church confirms that they have outgrown their current home.

Faith Lutheran Church has donated a building, next door to Faith Lutheran Church, to the pantry.

This building needs to be renovated to accommodate the food pantry's growing mission.

The Glen Ellyn Food Pantry has raised over $530,000, both in pledges and donations, specifically given to the Building Fund toward their $900,000 goal.

Grace Lutheran Church is one of 14 member churches who founded the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry through a community partnership. The pantry is seeking donations from local community members and organizations to raise the necessary funds to begin renovations this fall. The demand from COVID-19 has expedited this need.
