Fashion that embodies luxury and intelligence showcased on May 10

While New York City and Los Angeles are well known for being high fashion destinations, Chicago is becoming known in its own right as a new fashion mecca. On May 10, just north of Chicago in Lincolnshire, is a wine and fashion event that promises to deliver a unique experience for the creative, eclectic, Midwestern fashion and wine loving community.

Following the theme "Brave is Beautiful," attendees of the third annual Wine Women & Shoes will kick up their heels at a fun-filled evening of shopping, food and wine, entertainment, and a culminating glamorous fashion show by the Chicago-based fashion designer from Tipperary, Ireland, Ann Everett, all while raising funds to support families of domestic violence.

Providing the dazzling finale of the evening, talented local designer Everett will showcase her Summer 2019 collection full of whimsical dresses, luxe cotton sweaters, summer-weight suede pieces, and a few glimpses of Fall transition. Everett describes her personal style as functional, androgynous, architectural, and monochromatic.

Designing clothing for years, Everett didn't create her own label until 2012, after she realized that she kept hiring seamstresses to sew original pieces of her own design for her personal wardrobe, and that people on the street kept asking to buy her designs right off her back.

Everett adds personal touches to every piece that she creates, aspects that are unique to her brand. Her sweaters are all handmade, and she uses hand embroidery to add another layer of specialty to select pieces.

"I love to see the fabric come to life," Everett said. "I love the process because I am inspired by fabrics, not trends. Designing clothing for real women is a passion of mine."

Everett produces a fashion show every year to introduce her Fall/Winter collection and was recently featured in the Mario Tricoci "Make Me a Model" annual show in Chicago.

When approached to donate her time to showcase her collection at the A Safe Place fundraiser, she immediately said yes. "A Safe Place's mission to provide care to victims of domestic violence is one that is close to my heart."

Don't miss Everett's intelligent and luxurious designs at Wine Women & Shoes, an event to benefit A Safe Place, Lake County's sole provider of services exclusively focusing on domestic violence victims and their children. Last year, A Safe Place touched over 29,000 lives in Lake County.

Along with the glamorous fashion show, Wine Women & Shoes includes unlimited wine tastings and wine pull, marketplace with vendors selling accessories, a "Key to the Closet" raffle where the winner takes all, live and silent auctions, Best in Shoe and Best Dressed Awards, music and entertainment, and the charismatic Shoe Guys.

Tickets are available at www.winewomenandshoes.com/asafeplace for $125 after which includes a trendy swag bag filled with a variety of goodies. VIP admission is $175 and includes express VIP check in, table seating next to the runway for the fashion show, and champagne.
