Film Stripped Productions announces premiere of McHenry County short film

Film Stripped Productions will host the premiere of "Upstaged," a workplace comedy shot entirely on location in McHenry County, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, at the Classic Cinemas Theatre, 209 Main St. in Woodstock.

The comedy, about the staff of a small community theater, was created, written and directed by Crystal Lake resident Jeff Cook, and co-created by lead actor and director of photography Joel Bennett of McHenry.

"Upstaged" features local actors and familiar locales in Woodstock and Crystal Lake including the historic Woodstock Opera House.

"We created 'Upstaged' to tell the story of family; the ones you're born into, and the ones you create along the way in life," says Cook.

The film consists of three episodes of the comedy, two of which have previously been released on YouTube. The third will be premiered at the event.

"The first three episodes tell one complete story," Cook adds. "By the end, we hope audiences will love these characters and be rooting for them to succeed."

Seating is general admission and limited. Tickets for $15 can be purchased online at upstaged.yapsody.com or at the door on the night of the event. The event will run approximately 90 minutes.

For up-to-date information on the event, follow Upstaged on Facebook at "Upstaged - the Series."
