McHenry County Bicycle Club holds annual dinner

The McHenry County Bicycle Club recently held its annual installation dinner at Turnberry Country Club in Crystal Lake.

Included in the program was the installation of the incoming board of directors for the coming year: Jim Bolm, president; Joe Trexler, vice president; Mary Slupikowski, secretary; Peg Bolm, treasurer; Chuck Gruetzmacher, rides director; and Mike Davis, membership chairman. Barb Hafner and Elaine Foin were appointed as members at-large.

Outgoing board members Mike Henley (president), Lauren Berman (vice president) and Tom Benthusen (member at-large) were recognized for their past contributions to the club. Others recognized were Barb Hafner for most improved rider and Frank Bortko for new member of the year. In addition, Lauren Berman was presented with a plaque for 5,000 miles.

A special presentation was made to rides director Chuck Gruetzmacher for his accomplishment of achieving 10,000 miles of riding last year.
