CLC adds the University of Iowa to its guaranteed transfer admission program

College of Lake County students transferring to the University of Iowa with an Associate in Arts degree can now be guaranteed admission to the University of Iowa's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Additionally, those students will now meet all general education requirements (with the exception of the respective world language requirement and the diversity and inclusion requirement) for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, College of Education, Tippie College of Business and University College.

To transfer to the University of Iowa as a junior, CLC students must complete at least 60 semester hours with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on all graded arts and sciences courses acceptable for transfer.

CLC now has partnerships with 19 four-year institutions that provide guaranteed transfer admission to CLC students who meet the requirements outlined in the partnership agreement while they are CLC students.

These colleges and universities offer special incentives and guaranteed admission, ensuring a seamless transfer of credit to the four-year colleges and universities. CLC students can start planning their educational path sooner knowing where they will be transferring to after CLC, according to Karen Hlavin, associate vice president of student development. "We are pleased to add the University of Iowa to our list of university partners that offer CLC student guaranteed admission."

Four-year colleges and universities offering guaranteed admission to CLC students: American Business School (Paris, France), Arizona State University, Carthage College, DePaul University, Eastern Illinois University, Elmhurst College, Herzing University, Kendall College, North Central College, Northeastern Illinois University, Northern Illinois University, Olivet Nazarene University, Southern Illinois University, Trinity International University, the University of Illinois Chicago, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Colleges of Engineering and College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences), School of the Art Institute of Chicago, University of Iowa and University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
