Enjoy 'Epicurean Delight' at Renz Center benefit Sept. 24

Renz Addiction Counseling Center in Elgin is hosting its ninth annual "Epicurean Delight" fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, in Spartan Terrace Restaurant at Elgin Community College's Culinary Arts & Hospitality Department, 1700 Spartan Drive.

Guests will enjoy a four-course tour through Italy with plated gourmet fare prepared by top culinary students.

Tickets to "Epicurean Delight" are $85 per person. All proceeds benefit Renz Addiction Counseling Center's clinical and prevention programs. A group discount is available with purchases of three or more event tickets.

"Substance abuse is related to soaring health care costs, homelessness, criminal activity, and domestic disputes … it also has a dramatic effect on the children of our community," said Renz Center's board president Brian Monson. "This fundraiser is important because it directly supports someone in treatment while at the same time makes an impact on the safety and wellness of our community."

An iPad Pro, Amazon Echo, Walt Disney World tickets, restaurant gift certificates and more are just some of the items to be raffled off at this year's fundraiser. Community residents are invited to participate in advanced raffle sales; "Epicurean Delight" attendance not necessary to win. Raffle tickets are $10, five for $45, 10 for $80 or 13 for $100.

Top event sponsors include Tighe, Kress & Orr PC, Advocate Sherman Hospital, Lauderdale Electric, and American Chartered Bank. Renz Center is seeking additional sponsors who wish to make a difference in our community by providing a monetary or raffle basket donation.
