Give the 'Gift of a Lift' to seniors

Senior Care Volunteer Network is seeking volunteer drivers for the Gift of a Lift senior transportation program. Transportation needs are great, so please consider this volunteer opportunity.

Just an hour of your time can make a real difference in the life of a senior!

Volunteers utilize their own personal vehicles to transport seniors, age 60 and older, to medical appointments, dialysis, shopping, as well as other life-enriching destinations.

Volunteers benefit from training, mileage reimbursement, the flexibility to accept the volunteer opportunity that fits their schedule, and the chance to give back to their community.

Volunteer drivers must be at least 25 years of age, attend a volunteer orientation session, provide proof of a valid driver's license and auto insurance, and consent to a background check.

Senior Care Volunteer Network is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that utilizes volunteers to provide numerous services to seniors so they can maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life while remaining in their own home or the home of a loved one for as long and as safely as possible. They never charge for services.

If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a dedicated volunteer with the program, contact Aileen Zei, volunteer coordinator, at (815) 455-3120, ext. 223, or visit www.scvnmchenrycounty.org.
