Lakes makes it happen against Grant
Lakes’ boys basketball team earned a hard-fought 61-60 win over visiting Grant in North Suburban Prairie Division play Saturday night.
Despite playing short-handed, the Eagles improved to 11-12 and year and 7-3 in the NSC Prairie Division. David Milostan led the way a season-high 18 points for Lakes, and Michal Tomasiewicz contributed 16.
The Eagles played without Ethan Sage, who has an ankle sprain, and TJ Edwards, who had a prior commitment, coach Chris Snyder said.
Ryan Noda led Grant (11-10, 5-4) with 18 points, while Mike Burns had 15.
Grayslake North 49, Woodstock 43: Lucas Buckels scored 13 points, as the Knights won the Fox Valley Fox matinee on their home court to improve to 7-13 and 5-3 in the division.
Grayslake North led 16-11 after one quarter, 26-24 at halftime and 36-30 after three.
After posting a triple-double against Hampshire on Friday night, Aidan Einloth had 11 points and 7 rebounds for the Knights.
North Chicago 113, Round Lake 68: Kurt Hall scored 31 points, Arnold Shead had 22 and JaVairius Amos-Mays chipped 17, as the visiting Warhawks cruised in the North Suburban Prairie contest.
Karnell Wright poured in 23 points for Round Lake (4-18, 0-10), while Robert Pisarski had 15. The Panthers led 20-17 after one quarter, before getting outscored 36-18 in the second and 32-14 in the third.
Vernon Hills 53, Wauconda 44: Robby Nardini scored 24 points, sinking four 3-pointers, and the host Cougars captured the North Suburban Prairie contest.
Vernon Hills (13-9, 5-5) also received 12 points from Matt Weaver.
Dion Head had 16 points and 8 rebounds for Wauconda (13-9, 5-4), while Ben Carlson added a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds.
