Hayes throws no-hitter for top-ranked Naperville Central

Keegan Hayes threw a no-hitter, striking out six, and No. 1 Naperville Central remained unbeaten by sweeping Metea Valley 3-0 and 13-2 on Saturday in Naperville.

Hayes (12-0) allowed just 1 walk in tossing the third shutout in her last six starts. Lindsay Gonzalez was 2-for-2 with an RBI single and Lisa Tassi had 2 hits and an RBI in Game 1 for the Redhawks (18-0), who broke up a scoreless game with a 3-run fifth.

In the second game Katie Lamich was 2-for-2 with a double and 3 RBI, Maddi Doane had a single, double and 2 RBI and Gonzalez 3 RBI. Winning pitcher Julie Kestas (6-0) struck out six, allowing just 3 hits.

Lake Park 7, Lockport 6:Mari Colucci#146;s grand slam with two out in the bottom of the seventh tied it, and Steph Sturino singled in Dena Guthrie with Guthrie coming in to score the game-winner on an error in the outfield. No. 11 Lake Park trailed 6-2 going into the seventh, its rally coming after the first two batters were retired.Lake Park 9, Plainfield East 2:Shannon Fritsche hit a three-run homer and doubled, and Stephanie Starr doubled twice as part of a 12-hit attack for the Lancers (16-5). Steph Sturino (1-0) struck out four, going the distance after Julie Baumgart was struck in the foot by a line drive two batters into the game.Montini 11, Niles North 7:Emily Lezcano doubled in winning pitcher Amy Bukovsky with the go-ahead run in the fifth inning, Alex Dewey followed with a two-run homer, and the host Broncos (16-3) won their school record 10th straight game. Shaylee Lewis also went deep with a two-run shot, the teams combining for 5 homers. Dewey become the eighth Montini player to go deep this spring. Alyssa Sclafani was 2-for-3 with a walk for the Broncos.Naperville North 7, WW South 3:The Huskies, trailing 3-0, scored 7 runs in the top of the seventh, Alexis Solak doubling in the tying run and Rachel Martin squeezing in the go-ahead score. Emily Hillier followed with a two-run single to put the game out of reach. Solak was 3-for-4 with 2 RBI and a stolen base, Hillier 3-for-4 and Michelle Cavoto 2-for-3 with a run scored and RBI for Naperville North (9-5, 4-1 DuPage Valley Conference).Downers Grove North 5-11, Addison Trail 7-0:Kelsey Gockman hit a grand slam, her fourth homer of the year, and Brittany Nagy threw a three-hitter as the No. 8 Trojans (11-6) salvaged a doubleheader split in Downers Grove. Jaclyn Pasakarnis homered for Downers Grove North in Game 1. Danielle Ciaglia doubled and drove in 2 runs for Addison Trail (9-8).Peotone 3, Glenbard South 1:Hannah Taylor had a double, single and drove in the only run for the No. 7 Raiders (13-2), who lost despite out-hitting Peotone 6-3.Neuqua Valley 2-7, Minooka 5-4:Colleen Hill and Alyssa Domico went 2-for-4 with a double, Anna Cizek 2-for-4 and Haleigh Yerkes doubled and drove in 2 runs in Game 2 as the Wildcats (10-7) managed a split of the road doubleheader. Freshman Abby Solem homered and drove in 2 runs and Angela Scalzitti went 2-for-3 with a run scored. in Game 1 Elena Schwarz (3-6) scattered 2 hits and 7 walks, striking out seven. Solem was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and Gracie Sullivan 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.Fenton 10, Wheaton Academy 9:Marissa Gagliano was 3-for-5 with a double, 3 runs scored and 3 stolen bases for Wheaton Academy.Hinsdale Central 4, Romeoville 3:Emma Day#146;s sixth-inning grand slam lifted Hinsdale Central.Hinsdale Central 13, Streamwood 2:Alexa Heydenberk had a double and 5 RBI for the Red Devils.
