Rolling Meadows gets victory No. 20
Rolling Meadows first-year coach Joe DiSilvio watched his Mustangs earn their 20th win on Tuesday night with a 20-25, 125-18, 25-17 victory over visiting Schaumburg (18-16) in the Mid-Suburban League third-place crossover.
The Mustangs (20-13) were led on attack by Morgan Keller (13-of-14, 10 kills), Ashley Montanez (15-of-17, 7 kills), Rachel Mickey (15-of-17, 7 kills) and Jenny Vliet (8-of-10, 7 kills).
Vliet also handed out 15 assists while Sami Kay had 14. Mickey led the winners with 7 digs and 4 blocks while teammates Grace Skorin and Amy Wenzel each serve 2 aces.
Schaumburg (18-16) was led on attack by Kiana Lewis (16 kills) and Kelly Koutnik (12) while Sarah Stuehm collected 10 digs.
Barrington d. Prospect: Lauren Shechtman (9 kills), Julia Thompson (6) and Christy Roney (5) led the attack for Barrington in a 25-19, 25-17 MSL crossover win.
Maggie Daleen and Shechtman each had 2 blocks while setter Claire Waliczek handed out 22 assists.
Emily Canaletto had 8 digs and served 2 aces for the Fillies (17-12).
Elk Grove d. Conant: Diamond Boyd (11 kills) and Emily Wary (4 kills) led host Elk Grove in a 25-22, 25-22 MSL crossover victory.
Bridget Chaput and Martyna Sopalska each had 4 blocks for the winners while Kelsey Conley led with 12 digs and Katie Prochenski had 10. Teammate Kerry Souder served a pair of aces.
Jenn Donnell (9 kills), Daniele Sortino (6) and Sarah Manczko (5) led the attack for Conant (11-19) while Suzi Loznjakovic had 15 assists and Taylor Levitt 13 digs.
Wheeling d. Hoffman Estates: Sydney Keith (7 kills), Deanna Kuzmanic (5), Jessie Zuba (4) and Emily Walker (3) led the attack for host Wheeling (9-21) in the 25-19, 25-18 MSL crossover triumph. Amanda Mullin had 15 assists for the hosts while Kuzmanic had 7 and Sara Kern registered 16 digs.
Hoffman (7-27) was led by Becca Stoczynski (9 kills, 19 digs) and Sarah Willie (6 kills, 21 digs).
Benet d. St Viator: Benet defeated the visiting Lions 25-17, 25-5 in the ESCC match in Lisle.
Junior Megan Mueller had 3 kills for Viator (15-20, 3-6) while sophomore Kaitlin O’Brien had 4 assists.
