COD Athletes Receive NJCAA Awards

Six College of DuPage student athletes earned academic awards from the National Junior College Athletic Association for the 2011-2012 season.

This season's award-winning students are, Rebecca Hoder, Outdoor Track and Field—Exemplary Academic Achievement; Michelle Interrante, Softball—Superior Academic Achievement; Taylor Kutilek, Softball, Volleyball—Superior Academic Achievement; Jasmine Macabulos, Basketball—Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence; Molly Monroe, Softball—Exemplary Academic Achievement; and Stephen Seitz, Football—Superior Academic Achievement.

Headquartered in Colorado Springs, CO, the NCJAA has recognized academic success in student athletes since 1983. In the 2011-2012 academic year, nearly 60,000 students on 3,500 teams in 28 different sports competed for individual academic honors.

According to head Football Coach Gary Thomas, six additional College of DuPage students met the academic requirements for the award, but were ineligible because they are freshman.
