GiGi's Playhouse 5K Fun Run & Walk

What a wonderful day! 3000 people gathered for GiGi's Playhouse 5k at the beautiful Arboretum of South Barrington. Lauren Potter, who portrays Becky Jackson on the award-winning TV show Glee and an active and outspoken advocate for Down syndrome awareness, was just one of the highlights. Lauren proved to be a very enthusiastic supporter and a real “cheerleader” for GiGi's Playhouse!

GiGi's has 13 Down Syndrome Awareness Centers across the country dedicated to raising positive awareness of Down syndrome and supporting individuals and their families affected by this condition. GiGi's has over 26 programs that are all free of charge and the funds raised from this event go a long way in supporting these programs.

There were close to 150 volunteers who worked very hard to make this event the success it was. We couldn't have done it without them!!

At the end of the day, the event was closing in on $200, 000 raised for GiGi's Playhouse. Help us exceed that milestone. THERE IS STILL TIME TO DONATE. Please visit www.gigisplayhouse.org and click on 5K.
