CLC dance department to present Fear No Art festival

College of Lake County students, faculty and community members will host a festival of dance, drama, music, poetry and art. The 14th Annual Fear No Art will be performed at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, April 27-28, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 29.

Fear No Art will include original choreography by CLC students and faculty, set to a variety of musical genres using many styles of dance including ballet, belly dancing, jazz, hip-hop and high-energy contemporary dance. Fear No Art will also feature talented vocalists, a videographer, poets, pianists and displays of visual art in the lobby.

The artistic director is Valerie Alpert, dance professor and chair of the dance department. Choreographers include Valerie Alpert, George J. Busto, Vanesa Culasso, Brandon Huhn, Lamaiya Lancaster, Lorraine Maligaya, Bracha Klein, Kameron Moore, Jeannine Potter and Kit Kat Rickel.

Performances will be in the Mainstage Theatre of the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake. Tickets are $10 general admission; $8 CLC staff and students/Alumni Association members/Seniors 65 and older (includes $1 JLC facility fee); and $4 for children under 12.
