CLC’s boss receives new contract
College of Lake County trustees Tuesday night approved a new three-year contract for President Jerry W. Weber, who started in April 2009. “Dr. Weber has provided forward-thinking leadership for the college,” CLC board Chairman William Griffin said after the meeting at the school’s Vernon Hills campus. Griffin praised Weber for leading the college in the development of a comprehensive strategic plan and operational plans for such areas as finance and technology. Griffin also lauded Weber for his advocacy for sustainability initiatives such as new curriculum development and leadership in the Illinois Green Economy Network, a consortium of community colleges. The new deal, effective April 1, will give Weber a 2.5 percent pay increase, raising his base salary to $236,391. “CLC is all about helping students gain the knowledge and skills they need to achieve their goals. I’m honored to be the president of a college that is constantly challenging itself to do more to help students succeed,” Weber said.
