MCC hosts Welding Boot Camp if you’re ready to learn a new skill

Submitted by McHenry County College

Like to work with your hands, have an eye for detail and an ability to concentrate? Learn new skills in the welding trades with an introductory Welding Boot Camp program offered by McHenry County College’s Continuing Education Department. Classes begin in early February.

Welders work in a variety of environments, both indoors and out, using heat to melt and fuse metal for a common bond. Because so many of the products we use today involve welding, the opportunities in the welding industry are endless.

The next class takes place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1 through March 22 at the Woodstock Center, 912 Trakk Lane, Woodstock. Use course ID NWL C01 012 to register.

For those interested in weekday classes, other classes are offered at the same location from 6 to 9:20 p.m. Monday and Wednesday beginning Feb. 3, course ID NWL C01 013, or Tuesday and Thursday beginning Feb. 4, course ID NWL C01 014.

Cost is $1,000. An advanced welding class will begin in April and will cost $500. To register, call the MCC Registration Office at (815) 455-8588. For more information, call Tracy Berry at (815) 455-8758 or Dori Sullens at (815) 455-8559.
