Criminal History Record Information Training Session April 3
“Criminal History Record Information Training Symposium for Non-Criminal Justice Users” will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, at College of DuPage.
The symposium is sponsored by the Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification in conjunction with the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy at COD. Training topics include the role of the Bureau of Identification, Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act, name-based vs. fingerprint-based inquiries, conviction vs. non-conviction records, restricted use of LEADS, new legislation and fiscal procedures.
“Users of criminal history record information need to know how to make informed decisions in regards to hiring and licensing child care providers, health care workers, local governmental and school employees, and other important staff,” said Jim Kempinski, SLEA program manager.
The fee is $25 and includes a continental breakfast. The symposium will take place in the Jack H. Turner Conference Center, located in the Student Resource Center, Room 2800, on campus in Glen Ellyn.
