Dramatization celebrates Audubon

The Lake County Audubon Society and the Lake/Cook Chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society will co-sponsor a dramatization by well-known performer, author and educator Brian “Fox” Ellis.

The event is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, in celebration of the 200th anniversary of the visit to Illinois of the famous naturalist and wildlife artist John James Audubon.

Listen to tales of Audubon’s adventures in Illinois: the stories of birds he painted, his encounters with Native Americans, and his epic walk across the state in the spring of 1811.

Based on direct quotations from the artist’s journals, essays, letters, and three short stories about his time in Illinois, the dramatization features storytelling with images of Audubon’s art.

This free family-friendly performance will be at the College of Lake County, Building C, Room C005, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake. Seats will be available at 6:30 p.m., and parking will be available in parking lots 4, 5, and 6.

RSVP to audbirds@aol.com or call (847) 362-5134. For directions and campus maps, visit www.clcillinois.edu/aboutclc/grayslake.asp.
