COD Dedicates New Student Services Center
College of DuPage and local education leaders gathered Dec. 6 to dedicate the College's new 65,000-square-foot Student Services Center. The facility, opened to students in August, serves as the Glen Ellyn campus' new front door and is home to the College's Admissions, Registration, Financial Aid and Counseling and Advising offices, as well as Student Life.

Henry Gordon, a Lombard resident and 2010 graduate of Downers Grove South High School, said College of DuPage offers numerous educational opportunities on par with most four-year schools.
“When I'm done at COD in two years, I'll leave here debt free while my friend down at University of Illinois already has $60,000 hanging over his head,” he said. “I'm walking out of here debt free because I'm a community college student and I'm leaving here with a clear plan for my future.”
College of DuPage President Robert L. Breuder said the new Student Services Center helps combat the challenges of being a larger institution by providing students with a one-stop center for all their academic and financial needs.
“As the second largest provider of high education in the state, this is the epicenter where we can do a better job serving our students not only today, but tomorrow,” he said. “Students walk through our front door and we can immediately provide them with the support they need to be successful here at COD.”
Dr. Kathie Pierce, superintendent of Fenton High School District 100, applauded the College's new building and the care that went into planning this welcome addition to the COD campus.
“A welcome environment is vital in the transition from high school to college,” she said. “The Student Services Center has the ability to engage new students early and its sole purpose is to assist students and help orient them to the college environment.” (Terence Guider-Shaw/Special to College of DuPage)
