Glenbard West 8, St. Charles North 5:With 3 runs in the top of the 11th inning, the 14th-seeded Hilltoppers (17-18) stunned No. 3 St. Charles North in a regional semifinal game suspended after nine innings on Friday because of darkness. Ryan Kavanaugh was the winning pitcher for Glenbard West, which faces No. 6 York in the Class 4A Willowbrook regional final at 10 a.m. Monday. Neuqua Valley 7, Lockport 3:After falling behind 2-0 in the top of the first inning, the No. 3 Wildcats (25-10) scored 7 unanswered runs as they won the Class 4A Lockport regional championship. They#146;ll play Providence in the Neuqua Valley sectional semifinals on Thursday. Tanner Giesel went 4-for-4 with an RBI while Nick Oleskowicz had 3 hits and Andrew Skowronski drove in 2 runs. Nick Blackburn was the complete-game winning pitcher, striking out eight.St. Francis 3, Montini 2:The Spartans (23-12) won their first regional title since 2005 by beating Suburban Christian Conference rival Montini (18-14) in the Class 3A Glenbard South regional final. St. Francis will play Ridgewood in Wednesday#146;s Grayslake Central sectional semifinals. Winning pitcher Jack Roback struck out eight, including one to end the game with runners on first and second in the top of the seventh. K.C. Zimmerman homered for St. Francis. Glenbard North 3, Addison Trail 2:After the Blazers (16-18) took a 2-1 lead in the top of the seventh on Trevor Bermingham#146;s 2-run homer, Glenbard North (22-11) scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to win it. The Panthers will play Wheaton Warrenville South in Monday#146;s Class 4A Wheaton North regional title game. Evin Natick#146;s RBI double tied it for the Panthers and Ryan Gallagher drove in the game-winning run with an RBI single. Andrew Bergmann struck out 12 while improving to 9-2 on the mound.York 5, Willowbrook 0:Ryan Hinchley pitched a 3-hitter with 14 strikeouts and 2 walks in leading the Dukes (23-12) into Monday#146;s Class 4A Willowbrook regional final to face Glenbard West. Joe Boozell doubled and drove in 2 runs. Joey Grollo went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Providence 3, Benet 0:The Redwings (16-19) loaded the bases with two outs in the top of the seventh, but Providence held on in the Class 4A Benet regional final. Losing pitcher Nick Moore fared well in allowing only 4 hits. Benet started the day with a 12-0 five-inning win over Hinsdale South in the regional semifinal. Moore went 3-for-4 with a double, homer, 3 runs scored and 4 RBI. Zac Lewinski had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Chris Sanderson struck out seven and allowed 2 hits in 4 innings to earn the win.
