Lindenhurst man denies drug charges
One of three people charged with possessing a number of different drugs discovered after a traffic stop in Gurnee, pleaded not guilty Friday in Lake County circuit court.
Larry Grubbs, 44, of the 400 block of Pheasant Ridge Court in Lindenhurst, faces up to three years in prison if convicted of possession of a controlled substance.
Assistant State’s Attorney Danielle Pascucci said Grubbs; Jill Kolb, 25, and Nicholas Walls, 25, were in a car stopped on Russell Road by Gurnee police around 6:30 p.m. on March 23.
Police suspected drug activity and ordered all three out of the car, Pascucci said, and found a small amount of heroin, some hypodermic syringes and a number of pills in the vehicle.
The pills were later identified as Xanex and methadone, Pascucci said.
Kolb, of the 100 block of Beachview Drive in Round Lake Beach, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance on April 13 and was placed on probation for two years.
Walls, of the 300 block of Thornwood Drive in Lindenhurst, has pleaded not guilty to possession of controlled substance and is due in court again July 19.
