Wheaton North 13, Elk Grove 3:Dale Trimble blasted a second-inning grand slam while leading the Falcons (4-2) to a six-inning nonconference road win. Winning pitcher Jeff Schalk went 2-for-5 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.Glenbard North 11, Fremd 7:The Panthers (6-2) exploded for 20 hits in their nonconference road win. Evin Natick and Brandon Clark each went 4-for-5 with 2 doubles and a home run apiece, and they combined for 5 RBI. Tyler Schwichtenberg went 3-for-5 with 2 RBI. Andrew Bergmann improved to 3-0 on the mound.Glenbard South 8, Riverside-Brookfield 7:Justin Joseph, Zach Bava, Aaron Beese, Danato Giuseffi and complete-game winning pitcher Billy Strohl (2-0) each had 2 hits as the Raiders (5-3, 2-0) swept the Metro Suburban Conference series. St. Francis 6, Chicago Christian 5:The Spartans (7-3, 1-1 Suburban Christian Blue) scored the winning run on Tom Ameche#146;s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning. Winning pitcher Jack Roback (2-0) struck out 10 and walked none while Lonnie Hicks went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles and a run scored.
