Lake Zurich students view heart surgery

About 120 college placement and honors anatomy students from Lake Zurich High School will participate in an educational experience called “Live from the Heart” on Wednesday, March 16. The pupils are scheduled to visit the University Center of Lake County, on the College of Lake County campus in Grayslake, to watch an open-heart bypass surgery via video conference. The surgery will occur at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and is expected to last roughly two hours. Students will be able to ask questions of the surgeon during the procedure. The opportunity was offered through the Museum of Science and Industry.
