Lake County has financial aid workshops

College students and their parents can get help with applying for college financial aid by attending one of nine free FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) workshops in Lake County.

The workshops are scheduled for Feb. 12 to March 19. All college-bound high school students and their parents, along with current college students, are invited to attend no matter where they plan to go to college.

The workshops are sponsored by the College of Lake County, the University Center of Lake County, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, Mundelein High School, Round Lake High School, Waukegan High School and Coalition Latinos Unidos de Lake County.

The FAFSA form must be filled out for students to be considered for state and all federal financial aid. Financial aid information is also available online at fafsa.ed.gov or collegezone.com. CLC is a College Zone outreach center for the Illinois Student Assistance Commission.
