Golf demo and gala event Jan. 15 at Links & Tees

Golf enthusiasts are invited to a Golf Demo and Gala Event at Links & Tees Golf Dome, 880 W. Lake St. in Addison, on Saturday, Jan. 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is held inside the heated golf dome and offers something for golfers of every experience level.

Event attendees are able to test-drive new golf clubs provided by major golf representatives such as Wilson, Adams, Titleist/Cobra, Mizuno and Nike. Free demos and golf clinics from local PGA and LPGA professionals will be held throughout the three-hour event.

Steve Kashul, host of "The Golf Scene," will be filming on site and will announce the winners of the prize drawings. The lovely Chicago Blackhawk Ice Crew representatives will be available for autographs and photo opportunities. AthletiCo Physical Therapy will offer chair massages and injury screening assessments for golfers. Prizes donated by major golf representatives will be given away every half hour.

Links and Tees Golf Facility has received the prestigious honor as “A Top 100 Golf Practice Facility” for three consecutive years in 2008, 2009 and 2010. The golf dome was replaced in 2008 with a new and improved structure offering more warmth and creature comforts. Improvements to the dome include better lighting, turf maintenance, a new 2,700-square-foot chipping area, hanging targets and flat screen televisions located throughout the facility.

Links & Tees accolades also include 2010 NRPA/PGA Family Golf Facility Award and 2010 NRPA/PGA Sticks for Kids. As a result of this success, golf facility manager, Charles Sims, has been awarded the 2010 “Golf Manager of the Year” by the Illinois Park and Recreation Association.
