MCC to host business marketing seminar

How does a small business attract customers in this ever changing market? Limited resources and increased competition can add to the difficulty. The Illinois Small Business Development Center has added a new seminar, "Marketing on a Shoestring Budget," in response to requests and current trends. This seminar will be offered from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21.

"One of the biggest myths in marketing is you must have a big budget in order to be successful," said Matt Batt of Pipeline Media. "To get the word out about your business takes time, patience and energy," he said.

Learn how to make the most of your valuable resources to effectively drive awareness and increase revenue for your small business. Attendees will leave this seminar with implementable tactics to attract new customers, retain existing customers and build brand loyalty.

The Illinois Small Business Development Center was developed through a partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration, The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and McHenry County College under a cooperative agreement. All ISBDC programs are held at The Shah Center, 4100 W. Shamrock Lane, McHenry.

The seminar fee is $39. To register, call the MCC Registration Office at (815) 455-8588. For information, contact the ISBDC at (815) 455-6098 or 3-mail to sbdc@mchenry.edu.
