MCC workshop to close awareness-building series

McHenry County College will offer the seventh and final MCC community engagement session as part of the college's awareness-building efforts.

The session will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, in the MCC employee dining room, Building B. The primary goal for this effort, called MAP, is to receive input from community members on key issues facing the college.

This session is open to the public and participants will listen to a 30-minute presentation, work on a small group activity and provide input on several strategic questions. The topic is "Continuing to Build and Strengthen Collaborative Relationships."

Previously, the college held six MAP community engagement sessions with each focused on a different key topic, including safety and security, emerging technologies, affordability, new programming, accessibility and financial resources.

Starting in the fall, college officials will conduct a community survey, as well as take MAP on the road to seek input from citizens in various community locations throughout the college district.

An overview of MAP, along with frequently asked questions from the community, is available at mchenry.edu/community.
