Attorney fees established:
Avon Township board members agreed Monday to pay a $9,600 yearly fee for unlimited legal work by Round Lake attorney Gerald Dietz's firm. The Round Lake Park-based township will pay $800 a month to the firm instead of a proposed $115 an hour. Township Supervisor Sam Yingling said Dietz's firm is "a steal" at $800 per month. Trustee William McNeill was the lone dissenter in a 4-1 vote in favor of the monthly payments, saying it seemed too expensive. Dietz is the son of Round Lake Mayor James Dietz.
