Scouting this weekend's top girls basketball games

Class 2A Lisle sectional final

Timothy Christian (17-10) vs. Driscoll (29-1)

When: 7:30 p.m. today.

Outlook: The No. 1 seed Highlanders have hopes beyond their second straight sectional title - but first they must contend with the Trojans, after their first sectional since 2003. Look for Timothy Christian to pay close attention to Driscoll's Courtney Lindfors, a 30-point scorer Monday, with Shannon McNeil shadowing over to help Anneke Stremler down low.

Class 3A Wheaton Acad. regional final

Chicago Hope (12-14) vs. Wheaton Academy (26-1)

When: 7:30 p.m. today.

Outlook: Can the Warriors win their first regional title in 10 years? To do it Wheaton Academy will have to beat a powerhouse that rocked the Warriors by 30 in a regional final last year. The Warriors need to play disciplined basketball against a very quick, athletic Hope team. Keep an eye on the matchup between Alexa Sharkey and Hope's Ruby Barnes.

Class 4A Lake Park regional final

Glenbard East (18-10) vs. Lake Park (24-5)

When: 7:30 p.m. today.

Outlook: The surging Lancers look to add to their Upstate Eight title with a second regional in three years. Don't overlook the No. 11 seed Rams. Senior Kelsey Taylor is an experienced guard who can shoot, and Jackie Foreman is sneaky tough inside and out. But how do the Rams contain Samantha Arnold? Devin Johnston vs. Olivia Trefilek are two hard-nosed players inside.

Class 4A Bolingbrook regional final

Naperville Central (20-11) vs. Bolingbrook (19-4)

When: 7:30 p.m. today.

Outlook: The red-hot DVC co-champs get a test of tests against No. 1 seed Bolingbrook. Naperville Central guards Kelley Hendrick and Emma Ondik must dictate a methodical tempo - not easy against a bunch of quick guards led by sophomore Ariel Massengale. Improving Redhawks posts Catherine Tanck and Emma Donahue will have their hands full with frosh Morgan Tuck.

Class 4A Oswego East regional final

Downers N. (8-20) vs. Waubonsie Valley (18-8)

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Outlook: Warriors senior Rachel Bostick had 16 points Tuesday, and Jessica Morice's return from injury gives Waubonsie an experienced presence as it goes for its third straight regional title. Warriors freshman Keiera Ray is out for the season with a torn ACL and torn meniscus. A young Downers Grove North team relies on senior Melissa Blazej for leadership and good shooting.
