ECC to host family-friendly Halloween celebration Oct. 26

Elgin Community College will host its annual "Boo Bash" (formerly known as "Trunk-or-Treat") on Friday, Oct. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the college's Building J Events Center, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin.

Area families with children are invited to attend the free event as a safe way to celebrate Halloween.

The event will feature fun kids' activities, indoor trick-or-treating, free food and costume contests.

"Our goal is to provide a safe place for our community to celebrate Halloween and the tradition of trick-or-treating," said Amybeth Maurer, director of orientation and student life. "We welcome anyone who is in the Halloween spirit."

Attendees are encouraged to wear kid-friendly costumes that are appropriate for this event. Cooperation helps to ensure a safe, enjoyable environment for participants of all ages.
