SALUTE, INC. Hosts Annual Golf Outing to Raise Funds for Recently Injured Military Veterans

SALUTE, INC., the Palatine, Illinois based non-profit dedicated to meeting the financial, physical and emotional needs of injured military service members, veterans and their families, prepares for its annual Time Savers, Inc./SALUTE, INC. Golf Fundraiser on July 16th at Rolling Green Country Club in Arlington Heights.

The daylong event raises funds to help injured service personnel and their families overcome obstacles as they return to the community.

"This is a very important event for us," said SALUTE, INC. co-founder and Executive Director Mary Beth Beiersdorf. "The Time Savers, Inc./SALUTE, INC. Golf Fundraiser is a great opportunity for local residents to have some fun while contributing to a great cause. In our community, there are many injured military service personnel who are in need of assistance. The funds we receive from this event go a long way in helping these individuals make ends meet while they get back on their feet."

Last year the event raised $23,000 and assisted 17 veterans, including Colonel Shawn Pederson. After receiving generous donations from the community, SALUTE, INC. was able to gift Pederson a Rifton Tram so that he could enter the next phase of his recovery. With the proceeds from the 2018 outing, SALUTE has targeted the purchase of an additional Rifton Tram for a serviceman from downstate Illinois who suffered a traumatic brain injury.

In addition to a day of golfing, the event includes a buffet lunch, plated dinner, prizes, a silent auction and drinks. Tickets can be purchased individually or in groups of four. Attendees also have the option of purchasing dinner and auction tickets only.

"We're still in the process of securing additional sponsorships for the event, so it's not too late to sign up," said Beiersdorf. "Because we try to help local veterans, we love when local businesses get involved in our events. It strengthens the sense of community."
