Learn about bat ecology July 16 at Peck Farm Park

Bats are the only mammals capable of true flight. You can learn more about bats and their ecology during a July 16 "Learn from the Experts" nature program.

"Bats: Illinois' Flying Mammals" will be offered from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 16, at Peck Farm Park in Geneva. The program is for ages 18 and older. Registration is $10 per person.

Trish Burns, manager of Peck Farm Park, will lead the class. She will cover the life histories and ecological management challenges of bats, as well as their niche in local ecology.

"Learn from the Experts" programs offer in-depth information and learning opportunities about local ecology. The program is co-sponsored by the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, the St. Charles Park District and the Geneva Park District.
