Hersey to host Chicagoland Invitational Concert Band Festival

More than 40 student bands will perform Saturday, April 8 at the 17th annual Chicagoland Invitational Concert Band Festival at John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights.

The festival will feature high school and middle school bands from across the Midwest, showcasing outstanding high school musicians in a non-competitive environment.

Performing bands will receive feedback from renowned clinicians and judges, and exposure to universities, instrument companies, band camps, and others to assist them in making choices for their future in music and education.

There also will be a feature performance by the Western Illinois University Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Michael Fansler.

The festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at John Hersey High School, 1900 E. Thomas St., Arlington Heights. Tickets are $12 for adults, $5 for children age 10 and under, $7 for students and seniors, or $30 per family (up to two adults and two children).
