Two brothers dedicate renovated science center at St. Edward's

The St. Edward Central Catholic High School students gathered this week as two esteemed alumni, Bob Fox and Geoff Fox, dedicated the newly renovated Fox Science Center at the Elgin school.

It was made possible by the generous donations of the Fox brothers who attended St. Edward High School. Bob graduated from St. Edward and during Geoff's senior year, the family moved to California. They went on to have incredibly successful careers, starting Fox Head Inc., a privately owned action sports and clothing brand founded in 1974 in California. The contribution that they made to motocross is legendary. The Fox brand is one of the best-selling brands of motocross apparel.

Although they were half a continent away their ties to the Elgin area and especially St. Edward High remained strong through the years.

When the Fox brothers asked how they could help St. Edward High School, an updated science center and the implementation of a STEM program was suggested. They felt it was a perfect fit thus leading to the Sept. 21 dedication of the Fox Science Center. This will afford the students at St. Edward the opportunity for continued success.
