Jaycees Best Pizza Contest Nov. 6 in Hoffman Estates

The Hoffman Estates Jaycees will be holding its annual Best Pizza Contest to determine who makes the best pizza in the Schaumburg Township area.

The contest will be from 6:30-8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6, at the Schaumburg Township Hall, 1 Illinois Blvd., in Hoffman Estates.

Hoffman Estates and the surrounding communities have some of the best pizza places around. For $7, area residents and guests will be able to sample a variety of pizzas from local eateries, vote for their favorites and help the community. One drink is also included for free. Kids 4 and under are free and a discount rate is available for families of four or more. There is no limit to the amount of pizza an attendee can eat.

"$7 for all-you-can-eat pizza and a drink? That's crazy. Where can you go and get a deal like that today?" said area resident Navylia Abele.

Profits from this event will be used to help the community and local charities.

The Hoffman Estates Jaycees are also looking for additional restaurants to participate. Participants are area pizzerias willing to donate a minimum of six pizzas in one of three pizza categories. Participants may participate in multiple categories. Categories include: Thin crust, pan/thick crust and specialty. Community members will vote via a blind taste test and all votes will be tallied to determine the winner and runner-up in each category. Sponsors and donations for the event are also welcome.

Participants, sponsors, donors and of course the winner and runner-up of each category will be recognized via advertising through multiple channels including fliers, handouts, websites, social media, and news releases unless they choose to be anonymous. To become a participant, sponsor, or make a donation, contact Amy Nguyen at (847) 843-4352 or email the Jaycees at contact@hoffmanestatesjaycees.org.
