Palatine's J.P. Wood Martial Arts to Host Open House This Weekend

J.P. Wood Martial Arts will be hosting an open house on Saturday, September 6 at its location on Northwest Highway near Hicks Road in Palatine.

The event, which will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. will include a number of activities to showcase the various martial arts taught at the school; Taekwondo, Gumdo (sword) and Hapkido.

The open house schedule is as follows:

•11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.: Skills contest and games all event long. Refreshments served throughout the event.

•12:00 p.m.: Self defense class for kids, teens and adults

•12:40 p.m.: Samurang Sword class for kids, teens and adults

•1:30 p.m.: Taekwondo drill and activities for kids, teens and adults

•2:15 p.m.: Martial arts demonstration by J.P. Wood MAA Demo Team
