In addition to showcasing unique art from near and far, these monthly events are designed to showcase the beautiful property and encourage the community to explore and experience the arts.

Donations at First Friday support the organizations mission, which is to protect and preserve the historic Dole Mansion and Arts Park for generations to come while being a creative arts center offering programs, events, and concerts for the community to enjoy.

The Sept. 5 exhibits are titled "Intersect" and "Hard Edge," which features 11 artists specializing in a range of mediums from encaustics to graphic design. "Intersect" by five local, collaborative artists will be in the Dole Gallery and "Hard Edge" featuring six artists will be in the Sage Gallery.

"Intersect" is a thematic collection of pieces each based on selections of language.

"It is a translation of language-created imagery into visual (semi-figurative and conceptual) art."

This exhibit will feature Carol Hamilton, Joe Isacson, Kathleen Isacson, Jeffrey Sevener, and Angela Swan. Each will be depicting a facet of language within each of their own medias. Consisting of 14 sculptural pieces and 16 paintings, this exhibit will be 30 pieces total and will be on display in the Dole Gallery for the month of September.

"Hard Edge" is both a title and a description of the artworks presented. Featuring young artists with new perspectives, this show features a range of mediums such as graphic illustrations, graphite drawings, and oil paintings. Lakeside is lucky to have found such talented young artists to present a new breath of fresh air into the Sage Gallery. This work will be on display in the Sage Gallery for the month of September.
