Catholic Charities Benefits Enrollment Center helps seniors apply for aid

Catholic Charities Northwest Senior Services has a new program to assist seniors and persons with disabilities in identifying and applying for various benefit aid programs for which they may be eligible.

Applying for the Medicare Savings Plan or other government funded assistance can be overwhelming, but Catholic Charities has trained volunteers who are committed to helping eligible seniors complete the applications. Benefit applications include: Medicare Savings Plan, Extra Help (prescriptions), SNAP, Medicaid, and Benefit Access.

To participate:

• Call (847) 253-5500 and ask for the Benefits Enrollment Center to schedule a screening phone call.

• After completing this screening call, if you are identified as potentially eligible for assistance, a private "Enrollment Appointment" can be set at the Catholic Charities office or outpost locations: Arlington Heights Senior Center, Wheeling Pavilion Senior Center, or Hanover Township Senior Center.
