Get help with utility bills through LIHEAP

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program helps those people who are disconnected to their utilities.

Are you going to be disconnected from your heat or electric service? Or are you already disconnected?

There is still money available to help Kane and DeKalb county residents pay their heating bills. They will have to apply soon to qualify for this year's program.

The LIHEAP program ends Saturday, May 31.

LIHEAP provides once yearly benefits to eligible households in Kane and DeKalb counties through Community Contacts Inc., a nonprofit human services organization based in Elgin.

Eligibility is based on households income for the prior 30 days. A household of one cannot exceed $1,436. The limit for a household of two is $1,939; three is $2,441; and four is $2,944.

Please call for an appointment at (847) 697-4400 for Kane County or (815) 758-3835 for DeKalb County.
