57th Annual Lupo Family Christmas Party

Coming from Chicago and its surrounding suburbs as well as 4 different states, four generations of the Lupo family gathered together to celebrate Christmas at Alta Villa Banquets in Addison on December 22, 2013. In 1956, Tony and Mary Ann Lupo, currently of Park Ridge, began hosting what became an annual party in their home during the Christmas season as a way to celebrate with the families of Tony's brothers: Nick, Chip, Dominick, Mike, and Dan, and his sister, Dolly Lupo Portincaso. When the party eventually outgrew their home in the mid-1980's, the Lupo family continued to celebrate in various facilities that could accommodate their growing need. This year's 57th annual gathering was the largest ever, with only a handful of the family members missing the event. One highlight of this year's party was when Dan Lupo of Northbrook retold the story of his father, Antonio Lupo, coming alone from Pomarico, Italy, as a teenager to build a life in America.
